Durango voted overwhelmingly to legalize cannabis. Our town is 6.8 square miles and we have 10 recreational dispensaries, 8 of which were started by locals. We are very proud of that!
Come see our many dispensaries, meet and talk with the pioneering bud tenders and industry leaders who got on this first train. See how each dispensary has its own unique feel and check out what they have to offer.
Then join us for a relaxing puff in the pines while sampling some of Durango's tastiest herb.
We'll feed you a good lunch and go venture out again. We'll show you around Durango and point out the best areas to spend the rest of your vacation. By the end you'll know the best bakeries, restaurants, nightlife, parks, river trails, head shops, health food stores, and other places of interest that will make you feel like a local while you're here!
The day will take on its own flavor and depending on how many dispensaries we visit, we should have plenty of time to relax and with a few surprises mixed in! The tour goes at your pace. Our job is to keep you safe, happy, hydrated and in compliance. Your job is to have fun! This is a fun tour run by locals who love the herb and care about our community, and its guests.

We'll start this tour by visiting the many dispensaries here in Durango. We will relax for a puff in the pines before we head up north for a spectacular drive in our valley of the Rio de Las Animas. Bring your camera, and prepare to be blown away at the beauty of the Valley of Souls, inhabited for over 8,000 years. We'll take our time to explore, and stop for the little or big discoveries along the way including a gorgeous river stop where a scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed.
Next, we stop at our local artisanal apiary, Honeyville, which not only creates (well, really their awesome bees do) some of the most delicious honey in the country, but candies, creams, soaps, jams, and jellies as well. They also sell mead, honey wine, their signature honey whiskey, & cinnamon honey whiskey! Try a sample whilst checking out the bees at work within an active, transparent hive, right in the store.
Then we're off to a delicious lunch of lunch of beef, chicken, or fresh produce at James Ranch. The ranch specializes in organic foods, especially grass-fed beef. Experience the wonder of truly fresh food, an artisanal meal that traveled literally only yards to reach your plate. After getting our fill of incredible valley scenery and food, we'll enjoy a return drive to Durango, and conclude our tour back at our starting point. We'll provide snacks and beverages along the way.
Cannabis has a way of slowing one down to explore, play, dream and discovering nature with a child-like wonder. It enhances all the senses and that's what makes this tour so enjoyable . This is a non-rushed fun tour put on by local guides who love this area and understand cannabis. It’s our job to keep you happy, hydrated and in compliance. It’s your job to have fun.

Home to the highest ski area in North America where skiers must wear avalanche gear at all times, Silverton's people still make it a habit to stock food and medicine in case they get snowed in over a long, hard winter. In it's heyday, Silverton drew people from all over the world with dreams of striking it rich with silver & gold, and lawlessness was the norm. The town is so well-preserved, the entire area has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
We'll visit one of North America's highest dispensaries, housed in an amazing sarsaparilla bottling plant dating from 1906. We'll talk with knowledgeable bud-tenders, and enjoy cannabis in this spectacular mountain setting . We'll treat you to a delicious ploughman's lunch with fresh bread & locally-made cheese. We'll have ample time to explore this once-thriving mining town.
This tour caps at six people, which allows us to get around easily, explore Silverton thoroughly, and have plenty of fun. Cannabis has a way of slowing enhancing the senses, and being in the moment.
